You have plenty of options when growing a Red Cottonwood. The heart-shaped leaves are of varying shades of red, and purplish greens, and are a feature of this pretty native tree. The tropical Hibiscus flowers are a clear lemon yellow and are a distinctive and additional feature of this versatile tree.

  • In full sun with late afternoon shade, in moist well-draining soil. Tolerates a costal position

  • up to 8 metres, usually in South Australia it limits to around 5m and is easily pruned to the height you desire. It can be pruned to a bushy shrub.
