Meet John Stevens.
John has been hanging with Heyne’s Wholesale for almost five years now, a superior nurseryman who once flew the New South Wales colours. Fortuitously John took a right hand turn on the highway of life and rolled south, Heynes scooped him into the fold drawing on his knowledge, customer service skills and hard working ethic; and have recently knighted him to the role of Sales Coordinator.
Timing is everything, it’s a true adage – In the plant production game It is a crucial element. John’s role as sales coordinator is to time the production of all the plants for your orders and stock requirements. It’s with a profound understanding of plant behaviour, the weather, the nurseries load and staffing and amazing communication with Heyne’s Production manger Rick Moran and the Man in the cane bottomed chair, Carl Heyne, that this feat of skill can be executed.
With an apprenticeship served in a leading native plant production nursery, it’s no surprise that John harbours a loud and proud love of indigenous plants. John predicts that with the decline of the traditional backyard and gardens as they once were, we will also see a change of attitude towards natives plants. With more gardeners becoming interested in the astonishing and vast range of stunning impressive varieties of native plants. Plants that are so adaptable and appropriate to our changing environment, plants that are not only suited to your zone and region, they are grown for your region.
The grown locally message, aligns with the ethos of the Heyne’s brand that if it’s grown locally you know it will thrive locally.
There is much kudos in this role of sales coordinator, John is your man on the ground, making sure that everything is humming along and on track for your plant order. He’s a very integral cog in the Heyne’s wheel.
